Update []: Would you believe that there's a THIRD intersecting sale/showcase event running on Steam this week? Simfest 2026, organized by Mythwright, Stray Fawn Studios and Future Friends Games. Bear with me, but I think there's a lot of crossover with games made in Germany and/or featuring Trains? Shocking, I know.

Original Story: There's always some kind of showcase or sale event running on Steam, but this week, two of them coincide in unusual harmony. The Composed In Germany showcase (organized by Games Germany) and the Steam Train Fest run by Valve themselves. Great for fans of both precision mechanical engineering and scenic trips through Europe, and (rather unsurprisingly) there's some crossover between the contents of the two. Both events began yesterday and will run until July 27th, and are packed full of bargains, so go check them out!

If I had to pick out some personal favorites from the two lineups, the Composed In Germany event has some great games going cheap. Don't miss on sci-fi horror classic Signalis, Gothic-inspired gritty action RPG Drova: Forsaken Kin, stealthy ghost pirate adventure Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew, King's Field-inspired dungeon crawl Verho - Curse Of Faces, far-future squad tactics romp MENACE, Weird Western extraction shooter Hunt: Showdown 1896, Freelancer tribute space action RPG Everspace 2 and post-apocalyptic, narrative-heavy 4X strategy gem ZEPHON, all going cheap.

Meanwhile on the trains side of things, you might be surprised to discover the games are every bit as varied. We've got discounts on the likes of post-WW1 rail-bound strategy hybrid Last Train Home, recently-released train tactics hit Fogpiercer, co-op action railway builder Unrailed 2: Back On Track, future train management sandbox Railgrade, ambitious (VR-optional) train driver sim Derail Valley, Lucasarts-inspired comedy murder mystery Loco Motive, surreal gothic space-train RPG Sunless Skies, and a final shout-out to the fantastic, freshly released rail-grinder Denshattack!
