For over a decade now, many fans of the hit medieval strategy game Heroes of Might and Magic 3 have been left without proper access to the original game on Steam (although it is available on GOG) and were instead left with an HD remaster that lacked the full capabilities that the classic offered, until now. (Or so they thought)

It seems that someone over at Ubisoft has made a small mistake regarding the launch of Heroes of Might and Magic 3, and by “small mistake” I mean not actually uploading the game itself onto Steam.

This blunder has left people who purchased the game around £10 poorer, with little to show for it beyond a 23KB “dummy executable” that launches, well, nothing at all.

Fans have been, rightly so, open about their grievances on social media and in Steam reviews, the latter of which are mostly negative as of writing this.

Ubisoft is releasing the game on Steam to celebrate the announcement of a full-blown remake for modern systems, which was just announced at Gamescom.
