Metal Gear Solid Master Collection 2 Out Now, Finally Giving A Fresh Coat Of Paint To 2 Iconic Entries In The Series 1

Metal Gear Solid is one of the most iconic video game franchises ever made, bringing tactical stealth action to the masses and weaving emotional, memorable stories. Today, die-hard fans will be pleased to know that this iconic franchise adds two more games to its Steam library with Metal Gear Solid Master Collection 2.

This new collection includes Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (the latter finally being released from its PS3-shaped jail) in all their new HD glory, letting you experience them in the best way possible.

To compliment these two games, you will get both Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots' screenplay and 'Master' books (along with the Metal Gear Solid 4 Database) that give detailed insight into each of the characters and the intricate story revolving around them, coupled with the Metal Gear Solid: Digital Soundtrack 2 that features many iconic tracks that punctuate Snake's missions, and are playable from the in-game music player.

Another bonus is a third game altogether: along with the two main titles, this collection includes Metal Gear Ghost Babel, the first handheld entry in the series, a much-appreciated addition to the already amazing value of the two main titles.

Players of the previous Metal Gear Solid Master Collection 1 get even more bonus content, as they can claim a free gold camouflage in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and a free gold uniform in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker to really show their dedication to the cause.

There have also been a fair amount of changes regarding the online components; Metal Gear Solid 4’s Metal Gear Online is no longer present here, but Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker’s 6-player online co-op component is being revitalised with this remaster – I'm quite excited to delve into it at some point.

Overall, this Master Collection is what I expected it to be: a solid remaster of both games onto Steam in HD beauty, and I’m especially happy with the fact that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is finally free from its PS3 shackles.
