I'm sure many of you will be familiar with the famed Rollercoaster Tycoon series that gripped players with its addictive need for perfection and streamlined rollercoaster goodness, but I’m also sure many of you will be familiar with the amount of time that has passed since the last mainline instalment.
This is why I am very happy to deliver the news that Rollercoaster Tycoon Wonderworks, developed by Springloaded, is coming to Steam in the winter of this year.
This new iteration of the classic formula comes with a unique style that replicates the feel of small plastic tabletop models, letting the player feel as if they have truly built up a collection over time.

Along with this new graphical style, it keeps all the classic features you know and love, letting you create unique rides with deep simulation mechanics that make the world feel alive and evolve directly with the changes you make.
This is complemented by an improved, highly accurate physics engine that drives each ride, allowing the designs you create to be impacted by real-world physics – meaning thought and care are needed to create a functional and fun ride for your guests.
Here's a little more insight from Atari's PR:
"RollerCoaster Tycoon Wonderworks combines the deep theme park simulation and recognizable isometric perspective that made the series enduringly popular with Springloaded’s playful humor, expanded customization, streamlined management tools and new emergent gameplay systems."
It will also be a joy for fans of previous games that Rollercoaster Tycoon Wonderworks will stick to its roots in its humour and comic relief that punctuate the often stressful management of your theme park, meaning it will feel like what you know and love, but even better.
I believe longtime fans and newcomers alike will both enjoy this fresh take on the franchise, and with all of the improvements made, it seems to be the quintessential iteration to delve into – so if this seems up your alley, Rollercoaster Tycoon Wonderworks enters early access this winter on Steam for $24.99.
It is planned for console release at a later date.

Based on how the last Rollercoaster Tycoon was received and this launching into early access I was convinced this was also going to be bad but it’s apparently being developed by Springloaded of Let’s Build a Zoo fame so maybe it will be decent?
