I recently went down the Train Simulator genre rabbit hole and have been having a blast on Train Simulator Classic, so seeing Train Station Tycoon appear on the Steam front page really caught my interest.
What we have here is a game about becoming the ultimate station manager: making sure the trains are on time, bringing the teams up to scratch, building infrastructure and much more as you create the perfect railroad.
It isn't just about improving and keeping things in check; you will also face real-time crises day to day that require smart, calm operation to resolve and keep the track running smoothly. These dynamic events are front and centre in Train Station Tycoon, with anything from technical failures to sick passengers marring your valued customers' time and money, so you must stay on your toes to maximise efficiency and enjoyment.
You'll want to expand your infrastructure as you go; adding elevators, new platforms, or lounges throughout your stations will improve the customer experience, help crowds flow better, and reduce congestion.
Assign platforms, prevent clashes, and create smooth passenger flow so trains can move swiftly without delay, balancing the chaos of the predictable and the unpredictable.
Your success in this endeavour will be graded on train punctuality, passenger satisfaction, and your prestigious stations' appeal to the general public, meaning that there is, once again, a careful balance to be found in investment in your station.
All this chaos can be enjoyed with up to 4 players in co-op, so you can face the difficulties, trials, and tribulations of train life with friends across 3 different stations on 3 different maps, ranging from 2-30 tracks.
Train Station Tycoon places you in the shoes of a train manager in the midst of train chaos, with the sole goal of turning your small station into something big. So if you like how this sounds, or you're a fan of anything train- or rail-related, check it out on Steam to play a demo now, or wait for the full game on October 1st.
