Japanese developer Extreme and publishers Ratalaika and Shinyuden have revealed that the 1992 Sega Genesis / Mega Drive strategy RPG Vixen 357 is coming to Steam this year.
Originally developed by the same team that created the epic fantasy SRPG Langrisser, Vixen 357 puts you on a futuristic battlefield where massive robots are the main instrument of war.
Featuring a permadeath system where "mistakes are permanent", Vixen 357 also tasks you with making important narrative choices to influence the passage of the story.
The original Genesis game was never released outside Japan in the 1990s, but Shinyuden has recently published it in physical form on Sega's 16-bit console. This Steam version uses the same English translation.
It looks to be identical to the Genesis version, save for the introduction of modern-day bonus features that wouldn't be possible on the original console.
These include an artwork gallery to explore, the ability to rewind (and speed up) the game, save states, cheats and screen filters, with the latter offering a retro-style CRT mode.
