Welcome to our penultimate day of Autumn Sale 2026 coverage! Today, we're shining a spotlight on some truly undersold gems. Nothing here over 500 Steam user reviews, and many below 100. These are great games that we've played and can vouch for, but never really found their footing, falling into the dark corners of Steam where the algorithm seldom delves. So let's start digging, and see what we find:
VEX MAGE PC
90% Discount - Playable with mouse & keyboard or in VR, this might be the best tribute to psychedelic arena shooter Devil Daggers yet, with more complex battlegrounds, more varied enemies, multiple weapons to master and full online co-op. Did I also mention you can play this mesmerizing thing in VR? The surreal, glassy environments and enemies are clear, readable and are an amazing environment to inhabit. It's a trip. It looks gorgeous, it feels great to play and costs almost nothing. Quite why this one has flown under the radar is beyond me.
Spirited Thief PC
90% Discount - A great little turn-based stealth tactics game, inspired by the classic Thief series. You play as a thief with a deep bag of magic tricks, aided by your ghostly partner in crime. Being intangible, your ghost buddy can't interact with anything physical, but they can case the joint for you, futz with magical wards, and set things up for you to speed through the building. Get the job done fast, as more guards wake up with each toll of the bell. Equal parts puzzle and strategy, and (as in any good stealth game) quite replayable.
Arksync PC
50% Discount - A recent graduation from early access, and the developer is hoping it can hit 100 user reviews soon. This here might be the best tribute to DOS run-and-gun shooter Abuse (now remastered freeware) yet. Fast, twitchy and demanding - you play as a combat android, resurrected by a surly robot teddy bear on a mission to help find his missing human. This means delving into deep robot and mutant-infested dungeons. There's a bit of extraction shooter inspiration here too. Your body can be rebuilt, but if you die with some great gear on you, that's lost for good.
Eigengrau PC
50% Discount - What if Wario Ware was a shmup? Don't let the minimalist graphics on this one fool you, this game is PACKED with personality - it just shows it though the mechanics. Every one of Eigengrau's lengthy levels is built around a couple core gimmicks, and just as you're getting a handle on one concept, another wave of enemies throws some kind of new twist on the level's mechanics at you, with some being very funny and creative. It's also packed with secrets and optional bonuses, and does GREAT things in co-op, with many challenges reworked to accommodate two players.
Signs of the Sojourner PC
90% Discount - One of the smartest card 'battlers' out there. A road-trip adventure through a parallel world, where conversations are represented as card interactions, with your goal being to make a chain of unbroken symbols between you and the other character. The thing is, your cards - your dialect and vocabulary - are constantly changing based on where you are and who you talk to. Stay too long in one area and you might not be able to get along with people where you came from. Telling a story, one card at a time.
NBB.EXE PC
80% Discount - Bomberman Hero, Reboot and a precision platformer get thrown into a blender, and out pops NBB.EXE. A mostly-overhead platformer where you'll mostly be dodging and air-dashing around danger, and carefully knocking out threats with timed bombs that you can drop and kick around. The neon cyber-world aesthetic is cool, and there's more story than you might expect. Pick at the edges of the world and you'll uncover a lot of secrets, and stuff that extends well beyond where the end of the game seems to be. And of course, as it's Bomberman-inspired, there's local multiplayer too.
RESEARCH and DESTROY PC
85% Discount - A really fun lightweight take on XCom-ish strategy, with a little dash of Valkyria Chronicles action, and an aesthetic that I can only describe as 'XBox Live-core'. You play as a team of three super-scientists, fighting against the supernatural across a haunted Earth. While turn-based, you're free to run and gun in semi-real-time (it pauses when you don't press anything) during your turns, nailing headshots and otherwise bullying the undead, before returning to a strategic map to upgrade and plan your missions. It also has full online & split-screen co-op, making it great for introducing newbies to the genre.
REAL WEB LEGENDS: Carter's Quest PC
30% Discount - Devil May Cry + Zelda 64, as fueled by intense bisexual energy. This one is still in early access but I've been hooting and hollering about it for a while, and the second chapter just dropped. There's some really smart dungeon puzzling, some slick stance-shifting combo action, and some funky, weird and surprisingly heavy narrative stuff going on here. Plus, everyone in it is sexy and knows it, shaking everything they've got at the camera. I'd very much like to see the third chapter made and the game completed, and the developer would like to eat, too. Try it.
Rhell: Warped Worlds & Troubled Times PC
35% Discount - One of the smaller discounts here, but one of my favorite games of the year so far. Rhell is an open-world puzzler inspired by Scribblenauts where you (a sardonic witch) can solve problems however you like, as you construct spells out of components that can be chained together in incredibly complex ways. Create a living doll that casts Push & Lift on you to launch you over a chasm! Transmute yourself into different materials! Clone yourself! There are SO many solutions. And the game has a great built-in randomizer that means that return plays will force you to solve things with an entirely different set of spells.
REDLINE CROOKS PC
50% Discount - A roguelite arcade game like no other, inspired by frantic arcade rally racers of the early 90s. Great music, fun character art, incredible energy. Your nitro boost (letting you slam through ANYTHING, including walls) drains health, but smashing other cars heals you. Each character has their own fun gimmick - I especially like the forklift who can scoop up other cars and then throw them as projectiles. Earn money in each stage, spend it in stores between areas and try to come up with a fun build, but driving skill here and focus is the winning play. There's also a demo!
Hopefully we've helped you find something interesting that wasn't on you radar until now! Once again, there's so many more that I'd love to have included here, so here's a quick also-ran quickfire round, all going EXTRA cheap:
- 90% Discount - Eden's Last Sunrise - Furry Fantasy Tactics
- 70% Discount - A House of Many Doors - A Sunless Seas tribute, now updated by fans
- 90% Discount - Radical Rabbit Stew - Amiga-ish arcade fun from the Core Keeper team
- 90% Discount - Way of the Passive Fist - A side-scrolling brawler where you don't punch
- 80% Discount - CHR$(143) - Mind-bendingly complex retro computer puzzling
Tomorrow, we've got our last day of sales roundup, and we're going to be getting WEIRD with it. As ever, check our Autumn Sale 2026 Hub to find all of our deals and recommendations, and we'll see you there.
