Doggy Don't Care is what I think you would get if you mixed Who's Your Daddy?!, Octodad: Dadliest Catch and Untitled Goose Game. It is a chaos-filled blend of destruction, small-scale exploration, and making your owner's life as difficult as possible.

Doggy Don't Care is instantly charming the moment you start playing, and has a control scheme that, for a reason I really can't pin down, feels simple, smooth and intuitive, complementing an art style that really sticks the landing.

This is a simple game, but because of that, it does what it sets out to do perfectly, fulfilling the fantasy that your dog somehow gets up to mischief when you are out of the house. It will task you with collecting treats, solving puzzles, doing challenges, breaking windows (or, for that matter, breaking everything you can) and much more, giving you a sandbox (literally and figuratively) to just let loose and, well, be a dog.

Play as Charlie, a dog who collaborates with his feathered friends to cause as much chaos as possible. Collect badges from these friends for doing various heinous acts, or, as the developer puts it, "adorable chaos", around each stage of the game.

While causing this ruckus, you can also look stylish while doing so, with a wide range of outfits (or "pawjamas") that range from a simple cat outfit to a giraffe onesie (one of my favourites).

These outfits are discoverable through exploration and adventure, which encourages the player to look in every nook and cranny and leave nothing unturned. Aside from all this exploring, Charlie also needs his rest, which lets you explore his dreams and discover what they truly mean in playable sequences.

Doggy Don't Care is a charming 'chaos simulator' that feels like games I used to love years ago, so if you were ever into Untitled Goose Game, I can't recommend this game enough – especially with the free demo, which is out right now alongside the game on a 10% sale.
