I use the Xbox app on my PC and while it has improved it's still a bit cumbersome and clunky next to other store PC fronts.

However, as I also have a Series X in the living room the Play Anywhere feature is excellent.

I find myself buying less and less AAA titles these days, much prefering to hunt out those hidden gems across a wide range of genres. It's not a cost issue so much as an increasing disinterest in what the major publishers are pumping out. Homogonisation being the key word.

So while I upgraded my rig 12 months ago there really isn't any reason, looking ahead, to do so again for a good while.

Oddly enough I no longer use Epic Store. It just became a place where I would download free games I never played. 🤦

I'm a horror fan and there are, as you probably know, a whole treasure trove of horror games found on Steam and nowhere else. Could make for a good article exploring some of the best.

Oh, and don't just focus on the "big hitters" while only giving the occasional nod to smaller titles. There's a lot of relatively unheard gems on PC.
