Hello Sunshine 1

Hello Sunshine has been in my sights for a fair while now (admittedly due to the huge, cool-looking robot), and with the release of the Tokyo Game Show trailer, it is now on my metaphorical radar more than ever.

Set in a collapsed world brought to its knees by the greed of capitalism and corporations (like that could ever happen, right?), Hello Sunshine sees you forced to live in the shadow of a colossal robot who protects you against the sunlight and hostile war machines as you move around during the day, scavenging and surviving in a complete wasteland. I'm getting Iron Giant vibes, to put it bluntly.

At the Tokyo Game Show, a new trailer for Hello Sunshine was released that shows the player character exploring the deserted world while scavenging and looting to stay alive, moving from place to place under the shade of the giant mechanical behemoth.

This trailer also focuses more on the bond between the protagonist and the robot, showing how their relationship develops as we see them directly interact for the first time; the player climbs into the giant hand in a quite beautiful moment that brought a smile to my face; I am a sucker for friendly robots in any form of media (yes, my favourite Disney film is Wall-E).

This new trailer showcases much of what I wanted to see from this game, from the exploration to the bonds created between the player and the robot; each part looks extremely promising, and I, for one, am quite excited for its release.

Speaking of release, Hello Sunshine will launch sometime in 2027, but until then you can wishlist it right now on Steam.
