I admit I might be a little late to the party with the game I'm going to deliver to your feeds today, but that doesn't make it any less fascinating, creatively hilarious, or unique. I can imagine you might be trying to rack your brain to figure out what game I could possibly be talking about, and of course I am talking about the one, the only (drum roll, please), Mr Sleepy Man.

Mr Sleepy Man is, in the most literal sense, an absolute fever dream of a game, which draws a lot of similarities to games you have probably played and enjoyed many times before, but in a way that is unlike any of those titles entirely.

Mr Sleepy Head sees you sucked into a video game – or is it a dream, or both? I'm not sure if I really know myself (suffice to say, the lines blur easily) and tasks you with doing, well, anything. You can go about terrorising the citizens of Bedtime Town and making a mess of everything you find, such as stealing an old lady's car keys and driving it into a lake – or, for that matter, anywhere you so please.

You can then make your way over to the local shop and sneakily (or not so sneakily, the choice is yours) steal the cash register, making your great escape on your trusty blanket glider (I'm picking up some serious Breath of the Wild vibes here). But if you maybe don't feel like ruining the days of the innocent villagers, you could go on a collectable hunt to find scattered items around the town (although, come to think of it, that also may result in the ruining of a villager's day.... oh well).

These are only a few small examples of what one slumbering individual can do, and there is plenty more to be discovered – but I will leave that up to you to explore on your own.

All of this dreamland goodness is wrapped in an art style that looks eerily N64-inspired, with many of the details of the characters and environments looking hand-drawn – giving it a very comforting charm, and mixed with the clay-like texture and shape of most of the game, it serves to create a playful and fun world to platform around to your heart's content. This is integral, as it is a very platforming-heavy game that encourages exploration and finding new secrets and quests to complete.

Mr Sleepy Man is a game I don't think I could have ever imagined, even in my own wildest dreams – but I don't need to, as someone else far more talented (and perhaps unhinged) did, and I can pick it up on Steam for £15.49 or even play the free demo, and experience a concoction of ideas that lie just perfectly between dream and nightmare. Maybe you should too?
