The Crimson Desert DLC Takes A Headfirst Aquatic Dive Into Deep Sea Exploration 1

Crimson Desert was released to a pretty good reception overall and was praised for its open-world and honestly gorgeous world design, with many players also particularly enjoying the free-flowing, unique combat system. It seems developer Pearl Abyss heard this feedback and turned it up a couple notches with Crimson Desert's DLC out today: Charting The Unknown.

In it, you can explore land and sea like never before, opening up a wide array of new areas and islands off the coast of Pywel; take control of a ship, grow some sea legs, and venture past the land you know and love from your time with the game before.

These islands will include new enemies and threats (which look amazing) that you won't have seen before, forcing you to adapt and change up your tactics to best find out how to defeat them, or, in some cases, run and/or swim as fast as you can in the opposite direction.

While I did mention using your ship before, you might want to learn to swim, too, since much of this DLC takes place beneath the shimmering surface of Pywel's surrounding ocean. Dive deep below the surface and discover a plethora of sunken wrecks and undiscovered mysteries that are just waiting to be discovered.

This DLC isn't just aquatic adventures, however; with your extended time away at sea, your home back on Pywel is looking in need of some improvements and maintenance, and with the upgraded housing mode, you can do just that: create the perfect home for yourself to come back to after a long journey of seafaring.

If you enjoyed the base game of Crimson Desert, then I really would recommend giving the DLC a look on Steam later today; it comes in at £19.99 and is filled to the brim with seemingly all the same things that you know and love from Crimson Desert, and more.
