Have you ever thought you would love to sink your teeth into a proper survival game, but are apprehensive due to the stress of managing your health, hunger, heat, bases, and, with certain ones (cough, cough, Rust), losing it all to someone purely because they have more time to put into the game? Well, I've got a treat for you!

Under Canopies is a cosy survival game that ditches the tethers of past entries similar to it, instead letting you go at your own pace, not bogged down in worry and stress. Take your time to explore, build, cook, and do anything your heart desires, unmarred by nature, and live in harmony with it.

Step into a vibrant, living world ripe for discovery and exploration at whatever pace you want; observe wildlife, gather resources, and don't just survive – thrive. Use your journal to note any findings while out in the wild, then return home to your fully customised, hand-built cabin.

This cabin serves as your place of refuge and relaxation after a long day of foraging and exploring, and is able to be chopped and changed around to fully fit your creative vision and make the perfect home. Add chairs, tables, and decorative items, all without worrying about the going away (and if you are an avid survival game player, you know that fear all too well).

Your cabin isn't just a place to make look nice; however, it can be used for many other purposes, such as serving as your home base for a farm as you cultivate and grow your own crops, which then ties into the game's deep food cooking system that allows you to channel your inner chef and make works of culinary art for you to devour.

While you are in this forest living your best, harmonious life with nature, we have to mention the beautiful animals that roam around alongside you, as they are as much a part of your survival journey as the trees and the grass. Observe them, raise them, cultivate with them, and build a sense of companionship as you continue developing your cabin and farm to house more.

If you think survival games have gotten too real and you want a laid-back, relaxing experience, Under Canopies seems made for you. Pick it up today on Steam at a sweet 25% off, £9.74 instead of the usual £12.99.
