I was invited by a group slightly outside of my "usual group" (we were more like "freaks," these were the "geeks" to use the parlance of the time) to go to a couple of their LAN parties, in 9th grade, when Quake 2 was a massive hit and 3 had JUST come out. So, I borrowed a beige 200mhz pentium from my grandpa's office, and they helped me get it set up and run the settings low enough to play! it was an absolute blast, playing in a tiny window at probably 15fps 😂✌️ I'll never forget those nights, listening to Weird Al and Radiohead and Tool, eating cheetos and mtn dew, (which was the style at the time,) laughing hysterically and screaming obscenities as we fragged each other (well, mostly I got fragged but it was so satisfying when I could actually pull something off against these experienced players with their 3D graphics cards and Pentium 3s 😂🥰)
"Heck charging only $10 and the game not having any microtransactions anymore is a pretty good deal to me."
yeah I'm thinking of getting it just to vote for this kind of thing going forward. 👍 but also I had a lot of fun with quake as a teenager in the 90s/early 00s!
Anybody vouch for this game at 10 dollars, for somebody that was a contemporaneous fan of q2 and to a slightly lesser extent 3? I'm tempted just at the thought of some cool new quake to play. ✌️👍
(ps everything is "new" to me as I'm just getting back into PC gaming after essentially decades away. 🥳)
if you can't swing 180 for these handmade beauties, the Steamdeck bag by Tomtoc has served me very well for the past year for about 50 bucks.
FWIW, I'm storing my deck in a JSAUX case with face cover, a UGREEN dock (with the folding arm thingy,) a Logitech pebble keyboard, a small Logitech bluetooth mouse, power supply, all the related cords, and two 8BITDO lite controllers very comfortably and have zero issues with build quality or wear.
I saw this one on my release calendar the other day! I love the concept (and I frankly couldn't care less about the "story" part of AC games) but I do hope it stays fresh a little longer than Risk of Rain 2, which I found both repetitive and too easy.
(FWIW, in RoR2 on my first playthrough I fell into a build that was essentially invulnerable. I played for a very long time and eventually just gave up out of pure monotony. Really not a good start for a roguelite IMO.)
"with even iFixIT staff confirming that the components were being sunset until this surprise restock happened."
So, one person tried to replace a battery, was told (incorrectly) by a 3rd party that the component had essentially been discontinued, only for the batteries to be shortly restocked?
Is that all you've got? 🤔
PS - it's not called "confirming" if the source is the same as the corroborating party, especially if the information doesn't end up being true.
PPS - "with Valve confirming to PC Gamer that battery stocks should return as soon as next week, and iFixIT confirming that Valve were the ones to dispatch a fresh stock of the components."
i just got a Steamdeck last year (my very first "capable" gaming PC) and I've felt like an absolute fish out of water ever since! This is PERFECT! ✌️❤️

well someday when he has a popular digital storefront, he can implement whatever policies he wants.

First I'm hearing of this game.

Re: From Web-Novel to Retro RPG, 'Dungeon Treaders' Lets Housecats Lead the Party
is there some kind of helium leak in that dungeon?
Re: What PC Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - Collectible 1st Issue!
Sniper Dan! and Ocarina using Retrodeck.
Re: Rollout Inline Skates into Early Access, and My Rollerblading Itch Has Been Scratched
I can't have a new F zero game "because Mario Kart is so popular why would they bother" yet somehow rollerblade games still get made. 😮💨
I rented Aggressive Inline on PS2 way back and it was fun! You can only play so much THPS3 (or so I thought at the time 😅🍻)
PS - good article, young man! (I can say that now because I'm 40 😂)
Re: Welcome to Steam Hype!
I dont like the word "hype" or the consonant cluster "mhyp" in the URL.
Was "Steam Age" already taken?
How about Steam Power?

That's too many "confirmings."
