Onimusha: Way of the Sword

Inspired by our Sony-bound friends over at Push Square, we figured we should let you all in on the secret, sexy lives of our tiny crew here on Steam Hype, and what we do once we leave for the weekend.

It's video games. We're probably going to be playing a lot of games. Maybe sexy games, but still games.

Still, lots of big releases this week, and some heavyweights to come soon - here's what we're trying to finish up before the next wave hits:

Dominic Tarason (Lead Staff Writer)

On the big games front, I'm planning on digging a bit deeper into Onimusha: Way of the Sword, although given its scale, I've basically zero chance of finishing it.

Beyond that, as I mentioned in my Hands On piece earlier today, I'm going to continue unravelling the surreal mysteries of Roman Sands: RE:Build, which fully has its hooks into me.

And lastly, I'm going to be returning to the almost-unknown but excellent REAL WEB LEGENDS: Carter's Quest, which I can only describe as a fusion of Zelda 64 and Devil May Cry and fueled by frantic bisexual energy. The long-awaited second episode launches today!

Anthony Dickens (Founder & CEO)

Annoyingly, I'm going to have to swing by the office to collect my Steam Machine if I'm going to play anything this weekend. As for games, it would be impossible to ignore the Hellraiser demo that Dom described in glorious detail. It's been a while since I played Resident Evil 7, and this one sounds totally up that street, but perhaps behind the alleyway and under the neon red lights. Better keep the volume down too.

Damien McFerran (Editorial Director)

I picked up Assassin's Creed Odyssey on sale a few weeks back (blame Christopher Nolan), and after spending just a couple of hours with it, I got distracted with other things – so I should really get back to that. I've had my eye on it since it launched, and it runs surprisingly well on the Steam Deck.

It's not Steam-related, but I'm also playing through Shining the Holy Ark on my AYANEO 3 at the moment (with RetroAchievements!), and I dearly wish that Sega would find a way of resurrecting its Saturn library on modern platforms.

Noah McFerran (Jnr Staff Writer)

Even though I have already finished The Blood of Dawnwalker once, I am already nearing the end of my second playthrough and will be chipping away at as many side-quests as possible this weekend, and maybe even finishing it a second time. This grind will also possibly be interrupted by small sessions of Zenless Zone Zero (yes I am addicted) just to mix things up.

And that's it for us. But we want to know what you're up to this weekend in the weird, wacky world of PC gaming! Anything you've picked up thanks to our recommendations? Let us know in the comments below.
