Following the reveal of Kenjaku and Naoya in the first trailer for Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton, a new second trailer has been dropped recently, showing many new fan-favourite characters that are going to be introduced as bosses – which, as a big Jujutsu Kaisen fan, I did not expect at all.

During the second trailer, we also get a good look at all of the powerful moves that we are going to be able to use when embodying the over 20 different characters from across the Jujutsu Kaisen universe.

We can see Gojo's immense infinite void and unstoppable Hollow Purple, along with Yuji's formidable black flash and his classmate Yuta's vengeful curse, Rika Orimoto. All of these attacks and their respective characters look amazing in pixel art form and, in my opinion, translate solidly from their anime and manga counterparts.

Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton is also putting a unique spin on these characters and how they are built, drawing heavily on Vampire Survivors not only in style, but gameplay, meaning you can not only upgrade your own characters' skills, but also utilise others' abilities alongside your own, too.

After that, the new bosses are revealed, and their 2D sprites are shown off in all their glory. These bosses include: Junpei Yoshino, Jogo, Mahito, Uraume, Eso and Toji Fushiguro, along with Kenjaku and Naoya, who we have already seen. These characters look as good as the playable characters, and again translate perfectly to the 2D pixel art medium.

Despite this amazing news, there are some slightly worse announcements, as the release of Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton has had its launch date pushed back, meaning it will now be released in 2027, rather than the previously stated 2026.

While it is easy to be annoyed at delays such as this, I think it is most definitely for the best, and I personally would much rather have a fully fleshed-out game experience for the price of waiting a couple of extra months.

All these new announcements are getting me even more excited for Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton (even if it is going to be a little longer than I'd hoped), and I can't wait for any new news over the coming months.
