I was only supposed to give it a short try, earlier today, and suddenly, it was five hours later 😅 Love it! The flow in the gameplay, swinging around on the whip, reminds me of the fluid action in the latest Shinobi game.
People complain on Steam, that it's not a true Castlevania game. I have been a fan since the release of the original on NES, and the series have taken many different forms over the decades, so this is no different. And it sure have the elements of a Castlevania game, including the enemies and bosses.
The only thing that is disappointing, is the music. It's not bad, but it too cinematic, lacking the catchy music we are used to.
Still good for indie games and older titles. But the hardware just can't keep up with AAA titles. And no, using framegen, with 30fps is not what I call playable. I have a Legion Go S (Z1 extreme) now, and even that one are having a tough time. No PC handheld is worth the price at the moment.
Would be interesting too see what specs a Steam Deck 2 would get though.
I'm mostly forgotten, that VR still exist. I was there, when HTC Vive launched. It blew me away. But after a couple of weeks, the novelty wore off, and I sold it. But I had hopes about the future of epic adventure games in VR.
I have returned for time to time, having owned PSVR 1 and 2, Oculus Rift and Quest etc. But after that first two weeks, the interest always fade again. It looked promising there for a while, with games like Lone Echo, Stormland and Half Life Alyx. But after that short moment in time, it just got stuck with niche indie games. I don't care about VR mods, as I want proper big budget productions, made exclusively, for VR.
I would like to give this a try, but not at that price. And I would probablt just end up playing Alyx again, and then it'll go back in the box.
I guess at 50, I'm just too lazy anyways. Too ME, flatscreen gaming, is relaxing. VR is not. 😅

I'll give it a 9 out of 10 👍

Re: 'MD Engine' Makes Mega Drive / Genesis Game Development More Accessible Than Ever
Cool.
Gonna give it a try, and see if I can create something playable, or fail miserably 😅
Re: Onimusha: Way of the Sword's Samurai Demon-Slaying Is a Cut Above
One of my favorite games, this year.
I hope it sells, so we can get more sequels in the future.
