I hadn't heard of this before and I played it for a couple of hours without reading this, going in completely blind. I was initially a bit confused, but I'm quite intrigued now.
I tried the demo and will wait for the Switch port as my laptop could not run it at a consistent frame rate, even at a low resolution. The controls don't feel smooth and I thought the boss took way too long, unless I was doing it wrong somehow or just playing poorly. The button mapping is very different from Star Fox 64's and (like Agent 64) it would've been nice to have a "classic" control style, but it's not a massive issue. Overall, I thought the demo was just OK, but the game's user reviews are mostly positive, so I might give it a shot at that price. Also, you reminded me that I haven't played much of Ex-Zodiac yet.
I've played it for a couple of hours so far and it's really fun! One slight issue I have with it is that you can't cycle weapons backwards by pressing the fire button whilst cycling, meaning you have to go through all your weapons to get to the weapon behind your current one when using a controller. This is especially annoying when you have a lot of weapons. Also, the game uses four face buttons so it can't be played with an N64 controller. Other than those small gripes, this has been very enjoyable. I haven't played the multiplayer yet.
There are certainly a lot of these games, a decent amount of which are on my wishlist, and the ones I have played are all great! I also find the term "boomer shooter" to be a bit weird, but I guess it's because "boomer" is internet slang for anything old.
UZDoom is my go-to source port for the Doom engine games. I'd also recommend Chocolate Doom, Heretic, Hexen and Strife to people who want a vanilla-like experience that's not just DOSBox. It's also great for testing your own maps to see if they're vanilla-compatible.
I have six unplayed games on Steam: Baba Is You, Chicory: A Colorful Tale, Crypt of the NecroDancer, Eastward, Half-Life 2 and To the Moon. I'll get around to them eventually. I have many games that I've played for a few hours but haven't finished.
@Damo Was this site mentioned anywhere? I just happened to find it by clicking on the PC version of Doom: The Dark Ages from my games page on Nintendo Life.
@DominicTarason I just clicked on the PC version of The Dark Ages from my games page on Nintendo Life and it took me to this site. Is it really only two weeks old? I didn't see it mentioned on the other Hookshot sites. None of the social media accounts seem to have any followers and there aren't any comments here. Was this site mentioned anywhere at all?

Re: Annalynn MD Puts an Excitingly Literal Spin on the Doctor Mario Puzzle Formula
This feels like Dr. Mario, Puyo Puyo and Tetris all at once, and it works so well!

I've mostly been playing on Switch 2 the past week, but may tackle my Steam backlog this weekend. Perhaps Chicory: A Colorful Tale.
Re: Welcome to Steam Hype!
Congrats on your launch! I was wondering how much longer it was going to take.
Re: Skyrim Sends Players on a Quest to IKEA's Depths for Shelving Voiced by Matt Berry
We got IKEA in Skyrim before The Elder Scrolls VI.
This is absolutely hilarious, but alas, I only have the game on PS3. Also, Blåhaj mentioned? I love that little shark. 🏳️⚧️

Re: Steam Hype Weekly - Issue #5
Ooh, Chainsaw looks cool, and there's even a demo! I'll try it once I've finished Agent 64.

I've added Moonlighter to my library in case I ever feel like playing it. There's just so much stuff to play.

@Glassneedles I'm here, too. I wonder how much longer it'll be like this.
